Covid-19 Response | Updates and Actions

[UPDATE: Monday 19th July 2021]

Firebrand Training are committed to helping you achieve your certification as fast as possible, and as safe as possible.

This page is your source for the most up-to-date Covid-19 information, and how Firebrand are delivering and operating courses in a secure environment.

Our approach and conduct are continually under review, with restrictions having the ability to become tighter or loosened. Firebrand strictly follows UK Government guidelines for your protection and that of our staff.

The Firebrand Training Centre is Open

Firebrand’s Training Centre has reopened to students unable to attend online or delay their classroom training.

Following UK Government guidelines, we continue to encourage you to ‘Stay at Home’ and attend your courses via our Online Instructor-Led Training (OIL). However, if you cannot attend your course online and you are comfortable attending in-person, the training centre is available.

It's also important to note that a course may not have the option of in-person attendance due to instructor availability and/or other reasons.

Conduct at the Firebrand Training Centre

All of our Firebrand Operations staff are tested for COVID-19 once a week. All onsite staff have also attended specific Covid-19 training and will continue to do so with the various updates and potential restrictions that are announced.

There is absolutely no pressure on any student to attend training in the classroom. If you have any questions, or would like to discuss our free reschedules policy, please speak to your Firebrand account manager.

We continue to offer a robust COVID-19 training centre policy in place, which is available on request. Measures include:

  • An independent risk assessment has been completed to ensure we’re following all correct procedures - this is available on request
  • Government advice will be reviewed multiple times per week, and policy updated accordingly
  • All staff and students must always practice social distancing, by standing at least two meters away from others
  • Signage and floor stickers are in place to ensure social distancing is maintained, and class sizes are capped to allow the required spacing
  • Student entry, exit, and break times are staggered to reduce cross-over between classes
  • Bedroom check-in and check-out is contact-free
  • There is a deep-clean before each course starts, and the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting has been increased in all public places to at least once every two hours
  • A stylus can be requested upon arrival for the use of touch screens found on coffee and vending machines
  • Hand sanitiser is available at all staff and student entrances and in all classrooms
  • Students are welcome to bring their own mug, cup, and/or cutlery; disposable options are
  • PPE equipment is provided to all staff where appropriate and training has been provided on its correct use
  • Facemasks can be provided on request
  • Regarding ventilation, Aircon systems are set to max airflow
  • Doors are opened when and where appropriate/possible to promote further fresh air
  • There are regular breaks, where you'll be able to go outside where possible

We also recommend you take individual measures as per official guidance - wash your hands carefully and constantly, and notify our staff immediately should you feel unwell

What should I do if I suspect I’m ill?

If you’re due to attend a course, we encourage you to self-assess before travelling. If you have a cough or any other symptoms of COVID-19, we kindly ask you to follow the official advice from the government and stay at home. Contact us as soon as possible so we can assess your options.

If you’re already training with us, rest assured that our staff are here to help. Should you have any concerns while at the training centre, please reach out to Firebrand’s front desk.
