Introducing Firebrand Training’s 2021 Tech Pro Role Models

Firebrand are launching our Tech Pro Role Model Campaign over the coming weeks. Stay tuned to find out who our tech MVPs are!

All of us are aware that there is a diversity problem in the technology industry. Recent data has showcased, for example, that just 5% of leadership positions in the UK tech sector belong to women and only 4% of the entire workforce are Black, Asian or minority ethnic (BAME).

This needs to change. More diversity of all forms within tech will create more innovative and better products, happier and more productive teams, and a higher level of customer experience that drives both loyalty and profitability. 

Research carried out by McKinsey & Co has also found that companies with higher levels of diversity are 33% more likely to outperform competitors.

At Firebrand Training, we train and certify tech professionals and apprentices, empowering them to be the best they can be at their craft. However, we understand that one of the biggest challenges when it comes to increasing diversity in our sector is getting people through the door.

So, what can we do to change this for the better? Over the next few weeks and months, we will be championing a variety of our Firebrand Training role models - from trainers to apprentices across the length and breadth of the tech sector - to showcase just how much variety there is within the industry and how there really is a role for everyone, regardless of your background.
