Comptia A Plus Firebrand Training

Course spotlight — CompTIA A+

Aiming for an entry-level IT job? Achieve your A+ in just four days and bolster your CV.

The Computing Technology Industry Association, also known as CompTIA, is a non-profit trade association that has created some of the most respected and sought-after certifications in the IT industry.

These certifications help professionals develop the skills to navigate key IT sectors such as Networking, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Infrastructure, and IT Project Management.

At Firebrand, we are proud to be a Platinum-level CompTIA Authorised Partner. We have access to the latest official curriculum and the best instructors; true to the Firebrand method, certification exams are included in the price of each course.

Alongside CompTIA Security+ (exam SY0-701) and Network+ (exam N10-009), CompTIA A+ is one of our most sought-after courses at Firebrand.

Could the CompTIA career path be right for you, or your team? Let's take a look.

What is CompTIA A+?

CompTIA A+ is a widely recognised entry-level IT certification. It helps professionals develop foundational IT skills that they can apply to IT Support roles, including Hardware, Networking, Operating Systems (Windows, Mac OS, Linux), Cybersecurity, and Troubleshooting.

Who is A+ for?

To take this course, professionals must have 9 to 12 months of hands-on experience (e.g., building a computer, setting up devices in Windows OS), as well as knowledge of home networks (ISP connections) and familiarity with Windows desktop environments.

As previously mentioned, CompTIA A+ prepares professionals for entry-level roles such as IT Support Specialist, Helpdesk or Field Technician, Desktop Support Specialist, Associate Network Engineer, Tier I Support Specialist, or Junior Systems Administrator.

To specialise further, two solid options include Cybersecurity and Networking, for which the CompTIA Security+ and Network+ qualifications are the logical next steps.

(Our learners often ask about CompTIA CASP+ too. To take the Advanced Security Practitioner, you should already have Security+ or an equivalent certification.)

How long does the course take?

At Firebrand, we specialise in accelerated training. CompTIA A+ takes only 4 days, including the exams.
