Overview
The Firebrand Cyber Crime Protect course in intended to build on the learning from the foundation course, developing these techniques and principles and focusing on the concepts of cybersecurity in support of cyber resilience, infrastructure security, defence and response and information security.
This course focuses on the skills required to:
- Understand the concepts of Information Security and Information Security Management Systems.
- Understand Risk in relation to Cybersecurity and Information Security.
- Understand and inform policy on security and resilience of computer systems.
- Understand and apply the process of Incident Response and identify the key roles involved within an IR Team.
- Understand the key networking devices and topologies involved in network defence.
- Conduct security assessments and audits.

Exam Track
At the end of this course, you will have proven that you have the knowledge and skills to support the role of a Protect Officer and understand the responsibilities of security disciplines across an organisation. You will also be able to sit the BCS Foundation Certificate in Information Security Management Principles.
There will also be the option on the last day, for those that wish, to take an additional certification: The (ISC)² Certified in Cybersecurity entry-level certification. Both these certifications will add credibility to the role of the Protect Officer by demonstrating a level of proficiency through industry recognised certifications.
Prerequisites
Delegates should have completed a series of College of Policing packages prior to attendance and be actively involved in a law enforcement, MoD or HMG agency cyber-related units or a Cyber Protect team.
Delegates should have completed the Firebrand Cyber Crime Foundation course or equivalent.
