Overview

This accelerated Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices (P3O®) Foundation & Practitioner certification will help provide universally applicable guidance that will enable individuals and organizations to establish, develop and maintain appropriate business support structures.

The Foundation certification will give you sufficient knowledge and understanding of the P3O guidance to interact effectively with, or act as an informed member of, an office within a P3O model. The Foundation certification is a pre-requisite for the Practitioner certification.

The Practitioner certification will confirm whether you have achieved sufficient knowledge and understanding of the P3O guidance to design, implement, manage or work within any component office of a P3O model.

In just 3 days, you’ll gain the ability to:

Make informed senior management decision-making on factors including strategy, prioritization, risk management and optimization of resources in order to successfully deliver their business objectives (portfolio management).
Identify and realizae business outcomes and benefits via programmes Successful delivery of project outputs that enable benefits within time, cost and quality restraints.

At the end of this course, you’ll sit the PeopleCert Axelos exam, and achieve your Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices (P3O®) Certification certification. This course is ideal for:

Members of offices within a P3O model or anyone who needs to understand the terminology and concepts underpinning P3O and those wishing to pursue higher level qualifications.
Candidates wanting to take an active role in any of the offices described in the P3O model. While it is particularly suited to candidates fulfilling the management, generic or functional roles described in Appendix A of the P3O guide, it will also be relevant others who see the P3O model as a framework for a career path.

Module 1: Overview

Know facts, terms and concepts relating to the Introduction, the principles of a P3O model and its elements.
Understand key concepts relating to the Overview, Principles of a P3O model and its elements including the Introduction to P3O.

Module 2: Why Have a P3O?

Know facts, terms and concepts relating to the business justification for implementing a P3O.
Understand key concepts relating to the justification for implementing a P3O.
Be able to apply key concepts relating to the justification for implementing a P3O within a given scenario.
Be able to identify, analyse and distinguish between appropriate and inappropriate use of key concepts relating to the justification for implementing a P3O within a given scenario.

Module 3: Models and Tailoring

Know facts, terms and concepts relating to selecting the right P3O model and its functions and services.
Understand key concepts relating to selecting the right P3O model and its functions and services.
Be able to apply key concepts relating to models and tailoring within a given scenario.
Be able to identify, analyse and distinguish between appropriate and inappropriate use of key concepts relating to P3O models and tailoring within a given scenario.

Module 4: Implement and Re-energize

Know facts, terms and concepts relating to the processes to implement and re-energize a P3O.
Understand key concepts relating to implementing and reenergising a P3O.
Be able to apply key concepts relating to implementing and/or re-energising a P3O within a given scenario.
Be able to identify, analyse and distinguish between appropriate and inappropriate use of key concepts relating to implementing and/or re-energising a P3O within a given scenario.

Module 5: How to operate a P3O (including tools and techniques)

Know facts, terms and concepts relating to operating a P3O, including the use of tools and techniques.
Understand key concepts relating to operating a P3O, including the use of tools and techniques.
Be able to apply key concepts relating to the use of tools and techniques within a given scenario.

Module 6: Roles

Exam Track

At the end of this accelerated course, you’ll sit the following exam at the Firebrand Training centre, covered Certification Guarantee:

Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices (P3O®) Foundation exam

Duration: 60 minutes
Format: Multiple choice; Closed book
Number of questions: 75 questions - 70 live questions and five trials
Passing score: 35 marks required to pass (out of 70 available) – 50%

We interview all applicants for the course on their technical background, degrees and certifications held, and general suitability. If you get through this screening process, it means you stand a great chance of passing.

Firebrand Training is an immersive training environment. You must be committed to the course. The above prerequisites are guidelines, but many students with less experience have other background or traits that have enabled their success in accelerated training through Firebrand Training.
