What is the AWS SCS-C02 exam like? Is it difficult?

SCS-C02 is a multiple-choice exam that lasts nearly 3 hours, covering the six domains listed in the Exam section on this page. The questions tend to be scenario-based, testing your ability to apply security concepts in real-world AWS environments.

The exam is designed for professionals with advanced skills in securing AWS workloads. You need to understand AWS Security Services, such as how to use IAM, VPC security features, encryption services, and monitoring services, and AWS Documentation and Whitepapers including the Well-Architected Framework (Security Pillar), and security best practices.

AWS recommends having at least five years of IT security experience and two years of hands-on experience securing AWS workloads to attempt this exam; for this reason, this exam is considered challenging.
