Overview

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is a premier business management strategy designed to elevate process improvement and quality management.

Originally developed by Motorola in 1986, Lean Six Sigma aims to enhance process outputs by identifying and eliminating defects and minimising variability in both manufacturing and business processes.

This methodology employs a robust set of quality management tools, including statistical methods, and establishes a specialised infrastructure of experts within the organisation, such as "Green Belts" and "Black Belts."

Each Lean Six Sigma project follows a structured sequence of steps with clear financial targets, such as cost reduction or profit increase.

With Firebrand's accelerated training methodology, you will learn at twice the speed in a focused, distraction-free environment.

During this intensive 5-day course, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles, approaches, and tools necessary for business improvement. The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification equips professionals with a toolkit to tackle real-world challenges and lead improvement projects successfully.

FAQs

What is Lean Six Sigma?

Lean Six Sigma is a management philosophy that is used to transform organisations, helping them improve performance to become more effective and efficient. The Lean Six Sigma principles use tools from Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to improve quality quickly.

What is the difference between Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt?

Lean Six Sigma Training has 4 levels: Yellow Belt, Green Belt, Black Belt, and Master Black Belt.

  • Yellow Belts are trained in the basics of Lean Six Sigma and can typically carry out performance improvements within their teams;
  • Green Belts are trained and certified at a more advanced level. They tackle change within their business, in addition to their other responsibilities;
  • Black Belts are fluent in the use of the Lean Six Sigma approach and tools and deliver major performance or efficiency transformation for a business. Typically, they are Change Leaders within the business;
  • Master Black Belts connect Senior Leadership Teams with the Change Team. They are responsible for rolling out strategic change programmes using Six Sigma across the organisation. Typically, they are managers with the skills and knowledge to support, coach and mentor Green and Black Belts.

Why should I attempt the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt?

The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt helps you enhance your process improvement skills without delving as deep as the Black Belt. It teaches you the core Lean Six Sigma methodologies, including DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control), which helps you identify and reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance quality in various processes. It helps you accrue practical, hands-on knowledge that you can apply to your current role without needing to be a full-time process improvement specialist.

This certification is suited to those who need to understand and contribute to Lean Six Sigma projects but not actually manage complex, high-level projects full-time – which is what the Black Belt enables you to do.

Achieving Green Belt certification can also make you more attractive to employers, especially in the manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, and service industries, as well as to transition into roles involving Operations Management, Quality Management, or Process Analysis.

At Firebrand, you can achieve the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt in just 5 days and the Yellow Belt in just 2.
