On this 4-day Firebrand accelerated Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) training course, you'll develop the skills for intelligence gathering using publicly available information.

This Firebrand OSINT course introduces foundation concepts of Open Source Intelligence gathering and covers the essential tools and methods involved.

Throughout the course, you'll conduct a series of exercises to simulate investigation in a live environment, using both wired and wireless networks.   • Value of open source software - exploiting free tools - recognising limitation
  • Legislation - enhanced knowledge of relevant legislation, RIPA, DSA, DPA, CMA
  • Intelligence Development using open source
  • Use of network foot printing tools

Day Two

  • Social media - enhanced knowledge & searching ability- COSAIN, Maltego & similar
  • Social Network Analysis - basic knowledge & understanding/working with analysts to achieve best results
  • Web logs/downloads
  • Image/Document metadata and geolocation
  • Communications Data Awareness

Day Three

  • Consented Data - how to exploit consented data
  • Using HTML code
  • Forensic Linguistics - introduction & basic knowledge
  • Advanced evidential capture features - use of Camtasia

Day Four

  • Encryption - introductory level, work based knowledge
  • Hashing - concepts and value in evidential capture
  • Darknet - setting up and using TOR, Freenet and equivalent browsers
  • Darknet exploration

Exam Track

At the end of the course there will be an online multiple choice exam to test and validate your new skills in Open Source Intelligence.
