Overview
On this accelerated 4-day CREST Registered Penetration Tester (CRT) course, you'll advance your skills to penetrate computer systems or networks effectively and professionally—using realistic threat techniques—to evaluate their security and detect potential vulnerabilities, and protect your business from attacks.
In just 4 days, you'll learn to analyse tools and frameworks that are most readily available to hackers seeking to attack an organisation, as well as build knowledge on:
- Evaluate host-based security products and how those products reduce vulnerability to exploitation
- Carry out attack and defense operations for the purpose of exercises and vulnerability assessment and detection
- Demonstrate effective use of current tools and techniques used by industry-qualified cyber security penetration testers

This course and its exam are not available to be taken onsite. CREST (CRT) examinations delivered in the UK are held throughout the year and in various locations. Please check the Exam Track for further information.

At the end of this accelerated course, you'll prepare for the following exam:
CREST Registered Penetration Tester (CRT) exam
- Duration: 2.5 hours
- Passing score: 90/150 (60%)
- Format: Multiple choice practical assessment

Prerequisites
Before attending this course, you should have achieved the CREST Practitioner Security Analyst | CPSA certification. You should also have experience in:
- Conducting vulnerability assessments of Windows and Linux operating systems
- Using the command line with Linux and Windows
- Networking and the TCP protocol
- Working in a Red Team/Penetration Testing team
It would also be ideal if you had Ethical Hacking Associate training.
Please note:
- To gain CREST Registered Tester status, you must pass both the CREST Practitioner Security Analyst | CPSA certification and CREST Registered Tester (CRT) exams
- Without a valid CPSA you cannot sit the CRT examination, but you can still attend the training
