• Comprehend the PMBOK - you must move beyond basic knowledge of the PMBOK. Reading then repeating the guide will not be enough, you must understand the knowledge and apply it to move to a greater level of comprehension. This will allow you to answer questions from a level of understanding that is beyond basic brain dump tactics.
• Use Page 61 of the PMBOK - this is a matrix of the knowledge areas split into chapters across the 5 process groups. This does not work in real world application, you must in fact work vertically through the matrix one process group at a time from project initiation through to closing.
• Imagine yourself in a projectized organisation - even if you work in a functional organisation where teams are separated based on expertise, you must imagine you are in a projectized organisation. Using this mindset where you are in charge of everything will help you answer the questions.
• Visualise a true methodology - this means you must visualise an idea through into a real life project and the individual stages. This will enhance your ability to answer scenario based questions.
