Secure your IT systems on the GIAC Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP) course. This five-day course teaches you how to combine IT, cyber security and engineering best practices to secure your Industrial Control Systems (ICS).
You'll learn about:
You'll also take part in a series of practical exercises to consolidate your knowledge of using both wired and wireless networks. By the end of this course you'll know how to harden an ICS using end-point protection, securing removable media, or updating systems.
Firebrand’s course is intended for professionals moving into or gaining responsibilities for the security of Operational Technology (OT) or Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and covers all published syllabus areas required to tackle the GICSP certification. The course offers broader real-world training rather than simply aiming to allow students to tackle the GICSP. However students will, with some subsequent guided self-study, have all the needed skills to gain the certification.
Please note: Firebrand does not offer the GICSP exam, and the exam fee is not included in the course price.
Each section of the course has been mapped to the relevant industry standards and frameworks: NIST Cyber Security Framework (CSF), ISA/IEC 62443, ISO 2700x, COBIT 5, NIST Specialist Publications (SP), CIS (Centre for Internet Security), Critical Security Controls (CSC).
Firebrand do not offer the GICSP exam and the exam fee is not included in the course price. If you wish to take the exam, we’ll provide instructions on how to register with GIAC.
Please note: You'll be able to earn a maximum of 35 CPE hours if you attend Firebrand's GICSP course. You'll also have to renew your GICSP certification every four years through CPE credits.
Your accelerated course includes:
In order to be successful on this course, you'll need a good understanding of basic computer networking and security principles. You'll also need to be familiar with networking protocols, and ideally have a CompTIA Network+ certification.
We interview all applicants for the course on their technical background, degrees and certifications held, and general suitability. If you get through this screening process, it means you stand a great chance of passing.
Firebrand Training is an immersive training environment. You must be committed to the course. The above prerequisites are guidelines, but many students with less experience have other background or traits that have enabled their success in accelerated training through Firebrand Training.
If you have any doubts as to whether you meet the pre-requisites please call (0)8 44 68 27 85 and speak to one of our enrolment consultants, who can help you with a training plan.

"Ive used Firebrand several times now over multiple job roles. I found this course GICSP was the most interesting course so far. This was hugely down to the instructor''s interaction with the team and his shared real life scenarios. He is very knowledgeable indeed and presents the course in such a manner he made the subject feel much easier than it was. Its obvious that he is both passionate and dedicated in what he does. I look forward to attending onsite next year with him as the tutor"
