Overview
On this accelerated SECO-Institute Business Continuity Practitioner course, you’ll learn the fundamentals of business continuity and how to problem-solve realistic scenarios in a simulated business environment.
In just 5 days, you’ll learn to identify business continuity threats in your business, determine their potential impact and develop clear plans to address the risks. You’ll also build knowledge on:
- Prioritising threats and identify appropriate continuity measures
- Identifying roles, responsibilities, competencies and key performance indicators for the internal crisis organisation
- Drawing up and implement an emergency response plan in line with the applicable legal and regulatory requirements
At the end of this course, you’ll sit the SECO-Institute Business Continuity Practitioner exam, and achieve your certification. Curriculum
- Module 1: Perform threat and vulnerability analyses to identify threats to your organisation
- Module 2: Perform business impact analyses to identify critical business functions, processes and resources
- Module 3: Prioritise threats and identify appropriate continuity measures
- Module 5: Establish maximum tolerable downtime (MTPD) and recovery time objective (RTO) for your processes
- Module 6: Draft and implement a business continuity plan
- Module 7:Determine key performance indicators for your business continuity plan
- Module 8: Draw up and implement an emergency response plan in line with the applicable legal and regulatory requirements
- Module 9: Understand the fundamental principles of crisis management planning and internal and external crisis communications
- Module 10: Identify roles, responsibilities, competencies and key performance indicators for the internal crisis organisation
- Module 11: Identify recovery activities and priorities, and draw up a continuity of operations plan to ensure the availability of critical personnel and resources
- Module 12: Identify business continuity training and exercise needs, draft and plan BCM exercises, and determine key performance indicators for BCM testing
