To obtain the PMP® credential, you need to have either:

Option 1:

• Education: Secondary school diploma or global equivalent
• Experience: Minimum of 60 months (5 years) leading and directing projects within the past 10 years
• Project Management Education: 35 hours of formal project management education/training, or an active CAPM® certification

Option 2:

• Education: Associate’s level, higher certificate or global equivalent
• Experience: Minimum of 48 months (4 years) leading and directing projects within the past 10 years
• Project Management Education: 35 hours of formal project management education/training, or an active CAPM® certification

Option 3:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or global equivalent
• Experience: Minimum of 36 months (3 years) leading and directing projects within the past 10 years
• Project Management Education: 35 hours of formal project management education/training, or an active CAPM® certification

Option 4:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher from a GAC-accredited program
• Experience: Minimum of 24 months (2 years) leading and directing projects within the past 10 years
• Project Management Education: 35 hours of project management coursework (GAC programs are pre-approved to meet this requirement)
