On this accelerated 5-day VMware Certified Professional 7 – Desktop and Mobility certification course, you'll get the skills to deliver virtual desktops and applications through a single virtual desktop and infrastructure platform.

You'll develop hands-on skills in installing, configuring, and managing VMware Horizon 7. You'll dive in to how to configure and deploy pools of virtual machines, how to manage access and security of machines and how to provide a customised desktop environment to end users.

Some of the topics you'll cover include learning to:

  • Identify VMware Horizon components
  • Configure and manage pools of physical and virtual machines
  • Use Horizon Administrator to configure the VMware Horizon environment

This course is aimed at technical personnel who work in the IT departments of end-customer companies as well as those responsible for the delivery of remote or virtual desktop services.

On this accelerated Horizon 7: Install, Configure, Manage [V7] course, you'll be prepared for and sit the 2V0-751: VMware Certified Professional 7 - Desktop and Mobility (VCP7-DTM) exam, which is covered by your Certification Guarantee. Prerequisites

Before attending this course you must have previously passed either the vSphere 6 Foundations Exam or the vSphere 6.5 Foundations Exam

It is also expected that you have the following VMware infrastructure skills and are capable of:

  • Using VMware vSphere® Web Client to view the state of virtual machines, datastores, and networks
  • Opening a virtual machine console on VMware vCenter Server® and access the guest operating system
  • Creating snapshots of virtual machines
  • Configuring guest customization specifications
  • Modifying virtual machine properties
  • Converting a virtual machine into a template
  • Deploying a virtual machine from a template

It's also required that you have the following Microsoft Windows system administrator skills and are able to:

  • Configure Active Directory services, including DNS, DHCP, and time synchronization
  • Restrict users’ activities by implementing Group Policy objects
  • Configure Windows systems to allow Remote Desktop Connections
  • Build an ODBC connection to an SQL Server database
