I work as an IT manager supporting a helpdesk for our Software customers and also our internal IT. I have been in IT for 10 years and up to now have learnt everything on the job.
I got a job in an IT support company as a Temp and have worked my way up from here to IT manager in a different company. Having dealt with networks of 10,000 to just 10s, I have seen a lot of different techs, but not fully understood them all. I have used a number of small to medium sized software and network tools myself, but I am looking at getting a better understanding of this.
Overall, Firebrand have been great. Very welcoming, made you feel at home and overall very ready to start the course. The course was well lead and I felt I had taken the information on and this proved right as I had passed the exam.
The course was well constructed and the instructor used very good real life examples to help you understand the protocols and work. After asking Questions to help apply the learning to your own situations to help you understand this the instructor would happily help you apply this in your environment to help understand it.
I plan to use this new knowledge and apply it to a number of internal projects with my network to ensure security and performance are at the best I can get. Now knowing how things work and the effects this has on other parts means that I can better implement this without affecting the day to day business of the company and ensure the availability of the network is not affected as a result. This also has given me a better understand of how to resolve issues to get a quicker resolution in place.
