Overview
On this accelerated Databricks Certified Professional Data Scientist course, you’ll gain the skills and knowledge of the basics of machine learning, including the steps in the machine learning lifecycle and the machine learning model management.
In just 2 days, you’ll also build knowledge on the ML algorithms and techniques, including:
- Linear regression
- Logistic regression

- Matrix factorisation techniques
At the end of this course, you’ll sit the Databricks Certified Professional Data Scientist exam and achieve your certification.

Prerequisites
Before attending this accelerated course, you should have knowledge in:
- The basics of machine learning model management like logging and model organisation with MLflow
- The basics of machine learning, including:
- Bias-variance tradeoff
- In-sample vs. out-of sample data
- Categories of machine learning
- Applied statistics concepts
- The machine learning lifecycle, including:
- Data preparation
- Feature engineering
- Model training, selection, and production
- Interpreting models
- The machine learning algorithms and techniques, including:
- Linear, logistic, and regularised regression
- Tree-based models like decision trees, random forest and gradient boosted trees
- Unsupervised techniniques like K-means and PCA
- Specific algorithms like ALS for recommendation and isolation forests for outlier detection
