What is CISM®?

CISM® is a complex, high-level certification programme that teaches you to manage, design, oversee, and assess Enterprise Information Security.

Our delegates often ask about the difference between CISM® and CISSP®, the Certified Information Systems Security Professional® developed by ISC2. While CISSP® is more technical, CISM® has a more holistic and management-focused approach.

Who should take ISACA CISM®?

CISM® is open to anyone with an interest in security, especially Network Achitects, Information Security Managers, and other roles that include management responsibilities.

There are no prerequisites to attending the CISM® course or taking the official exam; in fact, ISACA encourages this. However, in order to become CISM® certified, you need to accumulate Information Security experience as well as pass the exam. One or two years of experience can be waived.
