Overview
Six Sigma is a Business Management strategy originally developed by Motorola, USA in 1986. Six Sigma seeks to improve the quality of process outputs by identifying and removing the causes of defects (errors) and minimizing variability in manufacturing and business processes.
It uses a set of quality management methods, including statistical methods, and creates a special infrastructure of people within the organization (e.g. "Black Belts" and "Green Belts") who are experts in these methods. Each Lean Six Sigma project carried out within an organisation follows a defined sequence of steps and has quantified financial targets (cost reduction or profit increase).
Train through Firebrand's accelerated methodology and you'll learn at twice the speed in a distraction-free environment.
During this 5-day accelerated course, you will gain a thorough understanding of all aspects of the Lean Six Sigma method and learn the approach, concepts and tools required for business improvement. The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a Lean Six Sigma tool-kit which can be applied to real-life problems within the industry by professionals with a high-level understanding of the Lean Six Sigma method and some experience working in more complex improvement projects.
This course has been developed for managers and professionals responsible for implementing Lean Six Sigma and wishing to understand the principles in order to work more effectively. It may also be used to raise awareness of Six Sigma within an organisation or as a member of a process improvement team.

FAQs
What is Lean Six Sigma?
Lean Six Sigma is a management philosophy that is used to transform organisations, helping them improve performance to become more effective and efficient. The Lean Six Sigma principles use tools from Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to improve quality quickly.
What is the difference between Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt?
Lean Six Sigma Training has 4 levels: Yellow Belt, Green Belt, Black Belt, and Master Black Belt.
- Yellow Belts are trained in the basics of Lean Six Sigma and can typically carry out performance improvements within their teams;
- Green Belts are trained and certified at a more advanced level. They tackle change within their business, in addition to their other responsibilities;
- Black Belts are fluent in the use of the Lean Six Sigma approach and tools and deliver major performance or efficiency transformation for a business. Typically, they are Change Leaders within the business;
- Master Black Belts connect Senior Leadership Teams with the Change Team. They are responsible for rolling out strategic change programmes using Six Sigma across the organisation. Typically, they are managers with the skills and knowledge to support, coach and mentor Green and Black Belts.
Why should I attempt the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt?
The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt helps you enhance your process improvement skills without delving as deep as the Black Belt. It teaches you the core Lean Six Sigma methodologies, including DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control), which helps you identify and reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance quality in various processes. It helps you accrue practical, hands-on knowledge that you can apply to your current role without needing to be a full-time process improvement specialist.
This certification is suited to those who need to understand and contribute to Lean Six Sigma projects but not actually manage complex, high-level projects full-time – which is what the Black Belt enables you to do.
Achieving Green Belt certification can also make you more attractive to employers, especially in the manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, and service industries, as well as to transition into roles involving Operations Management, Quality Management, or Process Analysis.
At Firebrand, you can achieve the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt in just 5 days and both Green and Black Belts together in just 10 days. Find out more.
