Course spotlight — ISC2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional® (CISSP®)
Is CISSP® worth it in 2025, and is it right for you?
At Firebrand, we are proud to be an Official Training Premier Partner (OTP) of ISC2 in recognition of our commitment to delivering world-class training, certification, and professional development opportunities for Cybersecurity professionals.
The Information Systems Security Certifications Consortium, known in short as ISC2, has over 675,000 members worldwide and provides leading Cyber Security certifications such as the CISSP®, CCSP®, and CGRC®.
Ever since we opened our doors in 2001, CISSP® has been one of our most sought-after certifications.
Could it be right for you? Let's take a look.
What is CISSP®?
The Certified Information Systems Security Professional® (CISSP®) is one of the most well-known and respected Cyber Security certifications in the world.
CISSP® helps you develop the expert knowledge you need to implement and manage an Enterprise Security Programme (ESP) for your company. It is a key certification for professionals who aim for senior Cyber Security roles.
Who is CISSP® for?
CISSP® is ideal for Security Architects, Analysts, Managers, Auditors, and Consultants, as well as those aiming to become Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs).
Before attending this course, you should have at least five years of paid, full-time work experience in two or more of the eight CISSP® Domains. If you do not have this experience, you can still get certified and you will have six years to earn the work experience required. See the full prerequisites.
Is CISSP® worth it in 2025?
Factoring in the cost of certification and the time you need to dedicate to it, CISSP® is a considerable investment—however, in 2025, it is certainly worth your while.
In 2025, the capabilities of AI are rapidly expanding, as is its adoption by companies and consumers. Cyber criminals are trying to stay one step ahead of this fluid landscape and capitalise on any mistakes for very lucrative rewards. The UK has faced a considerable cyber skills gap for years; in the context of this evolving landscape, cyber skills are becoming highly sought-after, especially at the level of expertise associated with the CISSP®. So, if you're seeking to rapidly advance in the field, there may be no better time to get CISSP® certified.
