Learn to create and implement modern web applications on your accelerated MCSA: Web Applications certification course.
This accelerated six-day course is 40% faster than traditional training. Your Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) will immerse you in learning Microsoft Official Curriculum (MOC). Using our unique Lecture | Lab | Review technique, you will reinforce theory with hands-on labs to put your learning into practice, developing real world skills relevant to the workplace. Review sessions will help commit your learning to memory, while giving you the opporunity to focus on difficult topics.
You'll get an introduction to HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript; and gain all the basic programming skills:
- Program logic
- Define and use variables
- Perform looping and branching
- Develop user interfaces
- Capture and validate user input
- Store data
- Create well-structured applications
Official labs will support you and demonstrate the structure of different application scenarios. These focus on the principals and coding structures that are used to establish an HTML5 software application.
You will sit exams 70-480 and 70-486 during the course, covered by your Certification Guarantee. Earning the MCSA: Web Applications certification qualifies you for a position as a web developer or web administrator. The certification will also act as a prerequisite for the MCSD: App Builder.
Please note: Exam 70-480: Programming in HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS3 now results in the Microsoft Specialist certification.

- MOC 20480C: Programming in HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS3
- MOC 20486D: Developing ASP.NET Core MVC Web Applications
Exam Track
You'll site the following exams at the Firebrand Training centre, during the course. This is covered by your Certification Guarantee.
Exam 70-480: Programming in HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS3
The skills you'll be tested on include:
- Implement and Manipulate Document Structures and Objects (20-25%)
- Implement Program Flow (25-30%)
- Access and Secure Data (25-30%)
- Use CSS3 in Applications (25-30%)
Exam 70-486: Developing ASP.NET 4.5 MVC Web Applications
This exam will measure your skills with Microsoft Visual Studio 2017, ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET Core. Including:
- Design the application architecture (15-20%)
- Design the build and deployment architecture (10-15%)
- Design the User Experience (15-20%)
- Develop the User Experience (15-20%)
- Troubleshoot and Debug Web Applications (20-25%)
- Design and Implement Security (15-20%)

Prerequisites
Before attending this course, students must have:
- A minimum of two to three years of experience developing web-based applications using Microsoft Visual Studio and Microsoft ASP.NET - specifically 1 month using Visual Studio 2017.
- Proficiency in using the .NET Framework
- Familiarity with C# language
This includes:
Knowledge of basic HTML document structure:
- HTML tags to display text content
- HTML tags to display graphics
- HTML APIs
Understanding how to style common HTML elements using CSS, including:
- Separating presentation from content
- Managing content flow
- Managing positioning of individual elements
- Managing content overflow
- Basic CSS styling
Understanding how to write JavaScript code to add functionality to a web page:
- How to create and use variables
- How to use:
- Arithmetic operators to perform arithmetic calculations involving one or more variables
- Relational operators to test the relationship between two variables or expressions
- Logical operators to combine expressions that contain relational operators
- How to control the program flow by using if … else statements.
- How to implement iterations by using loops.
- How to write simple functions.
