Overview
This accelerated BCS Practitioner Certificate in Being an IT Business Partner practitioner-level award encourages individuals in IT and technical roles to explore how to collaborate with different business areas in the digital workplace, as well as demonstrating diversity and cultural awareness.
Applying the knowledge learned throughout the preceding Practitioner awards, you’ll learn about influencing decision-making, taking responsibility and accountability in implementing solutions, how to collaborate with different business areas in the digital workplace, as well as demonstrating diversity and cultural awareness, with topics including:
Understanding the concepts of responsibility and accountability in the context of solution implementation; Why, when, and how to influence decision-making when choosing a solution; Promoting diversity and inclusion in business relationships; Effectively assessing strengths and weaknesses of proposed solutions; Conceptualising and understanding workplace culture and its effects on solution implementation.
In just 2 days, you’ll learn understand how to lead effectively. You’ll also learn how to:
- Understand how to lead effectively
- Manage driven digital teams that enact solutions
- Increase digital productivity across your organisation
- Develop skills and knowledge to support successful business change programmes within your organisation.
At the end of this course, you’ll sit the BCS exam, and achieve your BCS Practitioner Certificate in Being an IT Business Partner certification.

At the end of this accelerated course, you’ll sit the following exam at the Firebrand Training centre, covered by your Certification Guarantee:
BCS Practitioner Certificate in Being an IT Business Partner exam
- Duration: 30-minutes
- Format: ‘closed book’ exam with 5 scenarios and 20 2 objective questions; a mixture of multi choice and multi response
- Number of questions: 27
- Passing score: 65% (26/40)
Prerequisites
Before attending this accelerated course, you should:
- Be in an IT role with some experience of working with different teams across the business.
- Must have successfully completed the BCS Practitioner Awards in Leading with an IT Mindset, Collaborating with Business Teams, and Business Skills for the IT Professional to be eligible for the Being an IT Business Partner Award.
