Hyper-V Replica saves businesses from Hurricane Sandy
Hurricane Sandy has devastated the east coast of the US. It has flooded the subway, road tunnels and several homes and businesses.
The BBC has even estimated that 50 million people could be affected by the storm.
But out of the destruction there was a number of businesses which had fortunately set-up their Hyper-V replica's as a DR solution. Many have already posted many stories on how Hyper-V had saved their business. All their important documents were stored safely and it allowed them to carry on work the next day.
This allows businesses to be up and running without any data loss. Unfortunately there were also several businesses with data centers which will need a few weeks before they can be up and running again.
Hyper-V Replica allows the administrator to select individual virtual machines that will be replicated to a remote server or site, so it does not require an expensive storage infrastructure.
One of the great things about Hyper-V Replicas is that you can replicate all of your virtual machines to remote sites and send virtual machines from the same Hyper-V host to different servers or sites.
If you want to know how to use Hyper-V Replicas in Windows Server 2012, Windows Server instructor Ed Baker explains it all in this powerful blog: http://itknowledgeexchange.techtarget.com/how-to-blog/how-to-use-hyper-v-replicas-in-windows-server-2012/
