Quality Control

  • Monitors specific project results to determine if they comply with their quality standards.
  • Involves various methods of inspection,
  • Takes place in Monitoring and Controlling Processes

Quality Audit

An independent evaluation, inspection, or review of a project's Quality Assurance.

  • Improves quality performance of a project
  • Can be conducted at scheduled or random intervals

Example:

Quality audits at a pharmaceutical company

The auditor reviews:

  • Quality management plan;
  • Cost of quality;
  • Quality process designs;

Ensures that the processes are:

  • Up to date;
  • Being used correctly;
  • Still valid.
