Note: This course used to be called Sun Certified Enterprise Architect (SCEA).

Firebrand Training's 6 day Oracle Certified Master (OCM) Java EE 6 Enterprise Architect provides students with knowledge needed to develop robust architectures for enterprise Java applications using the Java Platform, Enterprise Edition (Java EE) technology. The Enterprise Java applications developed using the architecture as a guideline can accommodate rapid change and growth.

By taking this course, participants gain an understanding of the technical context of the Java EE and relevant technologies, and strategies needed to create application blueprints that work well when implementing Java EE technologies. These strategies include effective decision making through the use of systemic qualities (such as scalability and flexibility), Java EE technology blueprints and design patterns.

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to

  1. Make good use of Java EE component technologies to solve typical problems in system architecture
  2. Derive software systems using techniques outlined in the Java EE Blueprint and solutions defined in the Java EE Patterns catalogue
  3. Address quality-of-service requirements in a cost-effective manner using engineering trade-off techniques
  4. Describe the role of the architect and the products an architect delivers
  5. List and describe typical problems associated with large-scale enterprise systems

Four reasons why you should sit your OCM Java course with Firebrand Training

  1. You'll be OCM Java trained and certified faster. Learn more on this 6-day accelerated course. You'll get at least 12 hours a day of quality learning time in a distraction-free environment
  2. Your OCM Java course is all-inclusive. One simple price covers all course materials, exams, accommodation and meals – so you can focus on learning
  3. Pass OCM Java first time or train again for free. Your expert instructor will deliver our unique accelerated learning methods, allowing you to learn faster and be in the best possible position to pass first time. In the unlikely event that you don't, it's covered by your Certification Guarantee
  4. Study OCM Java with an award-winning training provider. We've won the Learning and Performance Institute's "Training Company of the Year" three times. Firebrand is your fastest way to learn, with 134.561 students saving more than one million hours since 2001

Students who can benefit from this course are those who are responsible for the overall software architecture and design of Java EE technology-based enterprise software systems. These students would also require insight into the role of the enterprise architect and want to use Java EE technologies in n-tier enterprise systems. Existing architects can also benefit from an understanding of how to use Java EE technologies to improve quality of service in their enterprise systems.

Day 4

Java EE 6 Enterprise Architect Certified Master Exam (1Z0-807)

Days 5-6

The assignment requires that you architect a solution for a small but plausible business system. To keep the amount of work involved to a reasonable level, the programs you create will be much more restricted in capability, and much cruder in overall presentation, than anything you would actually create for a paying customer. However, the essence of the problem will be the same. You will be graded on correctly solving the technical and performance requirements, not on the "polish" of the finished product.

Exam Track

As part of this accelerated course, you will prepare for this exam, covered by our Certification Guarantee:

Java EE 6 Enterprise Architect Certified Master Exam (Step 1 of 3) (1Z0-807)

In addition, during the course you will prepare for the following assignment:

Java Enterprise Architect Certified Master Assignment (Step 2 of 3) (1Z0-865)

This is completed outside of the course, and you will need to arrange and pay for this assignment directly with Oracle. On completion of the assignment, you will also be able to complete the following essay:
