Prerequisites

In addition to professional experience, you must have the following, to successfully get your SQL certification:

  • Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Windows operating system and its core functionality
  • Working knowledge of Transact-SQL
  • Working knowledge of relational databases
  • Experience with database design
  • Understanding of virtualisation technology (Classroom labs utilise virtual machines)
  • Minimum two years’ experience of working with relational databases, including:)
    • Designing a normalized database
    • Creating tables and relationships
    • Querying with Transact-SQL
  • Exposure to basic programming constructs (such as looping and branching)

Being aware of key business priorities such as revenue, profitability, and financial accounting is also recommended.
