World Mental Health Day 2024
You're not alone; we'll get through this together.
Every October 10th, we celebrate World Mental Health Day to raise awareness about this important issue and drive positive change.
This year's theme, set by the World Foundation of Mental Health, is workplace mental health.
At Firebrand, one of our core values is Care — we care about what we do, our community, our learners, our partners, and our team of colleagues around the world.
The mental health of everyone involved with Firebrand is very important to us, and perhaps nowhere is this more clear than in the ways in which we support the mental health of our learners on our Apprenticeship programmes.
We offer a range of one-to-one support, from a cup of tea and a chat to signposting and more formal referrals to mental health organisations such as Mind or The Mix.
This support includes:
- Learning Mentors both on the Firebrand side and at the learners' workplace, keeping them on track with programme requirements,
- Success Coaches who help learners orient themselves and carefully plan their careers,
- Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), tech experts whom learners can reach out to for specialised help,
- Tutors who can help learners develop their Maths and English skills to the requirements of their programme,
- Learning Support and Welfare mentors who can lend a sympathetic ear to complex issues and help our learners stay on track,
- and more.
With the right help and support, most of our learners go on to achieve their programmes and continue to life-changing careers in IT.
Whether you're our learner or are considering taking a programme with us, know this: you're not alone, we'll get through this together.
